$5 beers for Fairfield Craft Ales’ birthday month

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STRATFORD, Conn., June 24, 2019–Fairfield Craft Ales celebrates its third anniversary on July 9. To thank all of its customers from Stratford and the surrounding area, the brewery is offering $5 pours of any beers on tap for the entire month of July. There will be a party in September that will be announced during the summer.

Owners Mike Borruso and Joseph Bow officially opened their cozy tap room on July 9, 2016. At the time, they were the thirty-fifth craft brewery in Connecticut. “It’s been a crazy and fun three years,” says Borruso, a Fairfield resident who also holds a full-time job as an editor at a consulting firm. “We were just a couple of long-time home brewers who loved music and beer, and decided to open a brewery. I’m still excited when people walk through the door and we get to see their faces when they taste what we made.”

Bow, a bond analyst who is also from Fairfield, is amazed at the community they’ve built. “We have a great group of regulars and there are always new people coming in,” he says. “Whether they know each other or not, people easily strike up good conversations with each other and us. It’s like a family atmosphere.”

The two met through the Babe Ruth baseball league in Fairfield, and not long after they discovered their mutual passion for brewing, started planning a business.

They opened with eight beers on tap and limited seating, but soon expanded to 12 tap lines and seating for more than 50 people. Beers on tap now include pale ales, IPAs, and a double IPA, as well as styles for people who aren’t big hops fans, including a kolsch, brown ale, Irish ale, stout, and barleywine. “If you like a little heat, try Fire, our habanero-infused IPA,” says Borruso. “Hot pepper fans love it.”

New releases coming up include a saison with herbs de Provence, a hibiscus and lime gose, and a pale ale with Thai spices, including mango, lemongrass, ginger, and Thai chiles.

Fairfield Craft Ales is at 724 Honeyspot Road in Stratford. Every Thursday is trivia night, and there are other events throughout the year, including live music.
